Old Stuff 6: Rockport Park & Play

The Rockport playspot on the Ouachita in Arkansas is a staple for Memphis paddlers.  It has a few pretty good spots.  Starting from the bank on river left, there is the classic wave which has a nice shoulder to ride in toward the center.  This feature also has a hole a little farther over that makes a nice eddy and has a small spot for loops and cartwheels.  Towards the center of the river is a little spin hole.  And finally is Tiger's Jaws, which is a steep hole made for vertical moves.  However, there are a few rocks after the main hole which both give the feature its name and can freak out beginners trying to roll.
